Welcome to the University of Kansas! Here at KU we are proud to be home to one of the most prestigious Greek communities in the country. The Interfraternity Council fraternities on our campus have promoted brotherhood, friendship, service, and academics for over 130 years. I hope that you consider joining our Greek community throughout your four years as a student here.
To become a member of a Fraternity, you must go through the process of recruitment. Recruitment, simply stated, is the membership selection process. Here at KU there are two recruitment processes.
Informal RecruitmentAt KU, many prospective members are recruited informally. Once you complete the recruitment questionnaire your contact information will be given to our chapters, and then they will contact you about attending their recruitment events, which will give you a chance to get to know more about a chapter and its members. We also encourage you to contact the chapters you are interested in joining. |
Formal RecruitmentEach summer we also offer a formal recruitment period. During this time we invite prospective new members to come and stay on campus for a weekend and meet members of most of the fraternities at KU. Formal recruitment is perfect for those coming from out of the area that may not be able to attend informal events throughout the spring and summer. Click Here for more information. |
| If you are interested in joining a Multicultural Fraternity or a National Pan-Hellenic Fraternity please visit the Greek Life Website. | |
I hope that the information provided will assist you in your decision to become a member of our Greek Community. If at any time throughout the process you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. We look forward to seeing you on campus this fall! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
Fraternally,
